It's not a remake.
It's pretty much a sequel. An extended extended ending.

It's a direct sequel to Dusk. I was disappointed with how I had to cut out the original ending I had planned due to hitting the deadline, yet still had a bunch of unused ideas I thought would have been pretty cool.
I was going to animate a short extended ending, but then I decided that there was more to the labs that I wanted to show, and that I could pretty much make an entire full-length sequel to that. Generally I intend for this movie to bring back unused ideas not only from Dusk, but the entire series. Especially Day in regards to that shadow that was seen as they sailed away at the end.

No, not necessarily. Just the inclusion of ideas that I didn't include in previous movies. By that I mean simply including certain sequences, encounters, etc, in the current scenario. It's a sequel containing things I haven't been able to bring to the screen and more.
looks good. i liked how it originally ended despite leaving things on a cliffhanger however finding out what happened will be exciting. plus even this screen shot is drving me mad since you love to kill characters so much im thinking which of those scientists will die first =D
