im quite happy to see that you're still working on this : ) i appreciate your commitment a lot

No matter how far I've strayed, Overtime has always been there. It feels like it's in my blood at this point.

Holly shit you are working pretty hard!
I wanna know, will the sprites br released someday or you will keep it to ur grave?

I've been debating this internally for quite some time. I intended to release them to whoever asked (rather than a big public posting) but one of the things that made this series unique is the zombies.. As for general gore and other stuff, maybe! I've drawn quite a few guns/gibs/gore and fun stuff that I could see being put to use. This will have to be a question I revisit later on.

Ahuah (I apologize for the bad word), but just know that I want to draw this zombie, damn it! Bro, good luck finishing overtime as soon as possible! You are just awesome! And as I understand from the screenshot, a sniper biker killed this zombie

Hehe good guess, and thank you!

but.....is it really really really coming out?
checkmate

it is really really really really coming out
(4 reallys)

Even if you are ahead of schedule, it is probably for the best that if you do finish it before release date, you just take a breather, look over the animation, watch it multiple times, and then just take a calm break or something. It will probably feel better releasing it casually rather than releasing it just in time when you finish something. Plus if you can't keep yourself away, you can just add extra small details or adjustments e.t.c. Just you know, take your time and stuff. Glad you're doing well, you are always a big inspiration, cannot wait to see you do more work in the future!

Most definitely. I finished the other episodes within a week of the 9/22 deadline, with the exception of Dusk, which was finished over the course of a highly caffeinated 72 hours. It was a nightmare, and it's basically what prompted me to make a fourth lol. I intend to make this one the best that I can. But anyway, thank you!

Given how passionately you seem to be dedicating yourself to this project, I'm sure it'll be better than all your previous work and well worth waiting for. Best of luck with it!

Oh yes! I was a bit concerned that I'd be rusty after not animating consecutively for so long. I stopped in 2013, worked a few times in 2016, 2017, then did a good chunk in 2019 before going full steam ahead here in 2020. I feel like if anything, my animation skill has improved. I'll leave that for others to decide, but I've been applying the discipline of painting (e.g. attention to detail) to animation and I think overall it's helped me be a bit more efficient. Thank you kind sir!

Do you have to adapt when returning to the project every couple of years? Since your skills are improving, do you have any problems with inconsistency with certain scenes being, I guess the word is "outdated", in terms of art or animation?

Yes, each time somewhat. I'd say that picking it up in 2016 was a bit rough, and I've touched up the bits of animation that I did since then. After watching the movie start to finish, some of the earlier scenes are a bit awkward in pacing. I can see myself making a few changes, but nothing too drastic really. Since I've picked the project up again more recently, I've upped the violence like 10x, so I'll be going back and adding more blood/guts flying about to earlier parts of the movie. I'll also have to touch up some old backgrounds, particularly lab hallways, etc.

Sorry to bother but I have one more question.
Will the zombie behavior or appearance change?

No problem, keep 'em coming!
Yes, somewhat. We're basically at ground-zero, where the outbreak began. The local zombies will show slightly more decay, some may be a bit slower, etc. Deeper in the labs, we'll see some different test subjects and experiments, so that should be interesting.

Hi Ahmed, can you throw off the sounds of the zombies from Overtime?

Maybe in the future, my zombie sound effects are the most disorganized mess on earth.
