A small update

Posted by LittleLuckyLink - September 29th, 2018

So first of all, I wanted to apologize for hyping the release of DOTM: Overtime for September 22, 2018.

At this point I'm sure I've sounded like a broken record, life this, work this, stress this, etc. Those things have been the bane of every previous attempt to release this damn thing. So what happened this time? Well, as many of you may know, I only recently replaced my computer, finally ending a battle with technology and obsolete versions of Flash- but not without starting a few new ones. For one thing, Flash CS6 is pretty neat, but I've had several problems with it. For one thing, I've got this annoying fucking issue of not being able to directly import audio for sound effects, meaning I have to put sound effects in a .fla file, open it in Flash, and then import the files from one .fla into the other. Flash CS6 has a pretty decent backup and recovery system for how much it fucking crashes. I'm not a software developer but it kinda seems like they couldn't figure out how to make their shit not crash so they just focused that energy to preventing loss.

That being said, I don't know what this year will bring, but it's definitely possible that we'll see some major progress on Overtime. I don't want to make any promises for September 22, 2019, but I can at least promise that unless I die or something, this animation will be finished. Until the time comes when I can focus my time primarily on art, I don't really have any other animation projects in mind. It's definitely something I'd like to return to. I have plenty of "Of the Madness" spin-offs/prequels in mind, but we'll see what the Madness community looks like in a few years..

Anyway, I think that's all I have to say for now.

tl;dr: Flash CS6 is okay I guess, I'm currently rehabilitating my productivity, DotM: Overtime coming soon.

that's really shitty, I wish you the best of luck friendo

Thanks man!

I'm glad that everything is going well.
Like Seancglover said,I wish you the best of luck in this and in your future projects.
By the way, why is the name of the fla different?

I added "resurrected" at the end mostly for fun, but it also represents the long absence of work on the project.

the community still strong, alive and kicking
we are waiting anxiously for your return

Good to hear! I guess we'll see how next Madness day goes before I start talking about prequels/spin offs lmao

Woot woot! I had someone ask me if I knew where you were lol. Good to hear that friend moves out. I hope your problems with Flash CS6 don't impede tour progress too much. Can't wait for Overtime. It's gonna be great!

Where there's a will, there's a way!

Damn I need this amazing zombie-apocalypse movie right now! You must finish it for me :D

For you, for Gotham, for JUSTICE

DAMNNNNN!!!!! finish it asap!

Take your time dude <3

i would recomended adobe cc for ya,cuz it doesnt fucking annoy me when i want to add sounds
in,but if ya want to stick with cs6 and want to use the sound,ya sound converted it(yea i know it sound dumb but cs6 is dumb)convert those sounds to mp3 cuz it the best format, and import it again,it will work.
the fact that u havent drop this boi and still improve every single scenes u show us is amazing lol
,gud luck finish this project

I may experiment with that. I think the main drawback is that the file is a .fla originally created in Macromedia Flash Pro 8. Ideally I'd like to be working in Flash 8, but I can't find a version that'll work on Mac OS. (Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough.)
This is indeed a big boi of a movie. I've got an idea for an insane climax that I'm still not even sure how I'm going to pull off just yet- but that's the fun in it I suppose. I'll try to pick back up on regular screenshots once I get a good work-flow going.

Ah,ok
Thanks :)

well........that hurts.....deeply........i just wish you the best of luck and i hope we will get to see it.......glad to see your alive at least.......:(

Hopefully I'll be able to live up to my username this year.

I'm looking forward to it.

I was getting worried. Sucks you couldn't work on this as much as you like, and those CS6 problems sound horrid. Still eager to watch whenever it gets released!

Awesome shit man! keep at it, funny how adobe / flash ingeneral GETS updates and even newer versions, but you're pretty much just downloading the brand Lol, their updates are practically nonexistent, just a NICE coat of paint they slap on it; while flash is still probably the best thing EVER for animation, it's got it's own share of some serious issues, Flash 8 still isn't better but it's definitely the classic version and doesn't have as much bullshit as the newer ones ;3

As long as you're doing okay that is really all that matters. I understand life is a pain in the ass as even I am am starting to learn as a young adult about the drama of stupid and shitty people (I myself used to be a toxic person if you even remember that) and work can be annoying too. I hope the animation goes well as I was a long time fan before I grew out of Madness stuff. Your Madness stuff really is the only stuff I can enjoy considering there is an actual story to it... And I just like zombies.

That blows about what happened, but it's good that you're doing your own thing. DOTM was always super cool, and I enjoyed the references and humor within the series, and the music was awesome. Best of luck, and hope you continue to be well and that you get to focus on your art more

Hurry up man I'm hyped
