Very well done! I love how many colors are present, and the subtle animation of the light from the computer screen! It'd be cool to see you work on this to add some more movements, such as breathing, blinking, etc. Regardless, this is still super cool and very well done. Welcome to NG!

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoy it, and while this was a commission, I do have some animations that show off more movement. Will post those once I get through posting my older work, or you can check my website if you want to skip the wait XP

Absolutely beautiful. I love the hints of autumn in the trees <3

Opeth lyrics?
This piece is absolutely magical. You did a great job balancing the darkness of the scene while also preserving the beautiful reflections of light from the aurora borealis. Absolutely beautiful.

Wuggynaut responds:

Opeth lyrics indeed. Thank you!

One of my favorite things about the snow is the silence that it brings. It seems like the snow acts as an insulator for much of the roaring static of our modern world as it pushes for more and more money to an unsustainable end. When it snows outside, I feel like I can finally hear myself breathe, like I can finally hear my thoughts. I wish I could live where it snows non-stop.

Not sure if this was close to the angle that you were going for in the title of this piece, but regardless, it stood out to me, and looking at this piece invokes those same feelings.

I absolutely love this piece. The lighting, the perspective, and the animation is excellent. The animation especially stands out to me for its closeness to realism. I like how the snow responds to the lighting of the street lamp, but I also really like how you've included a few briefly-seen sparkling snowflakes off to the sides. Whether or not this is an illusion from the anti-aliasing or not, it appears as though you may have animated some subtle cloud movements? It's kinda hard to tell, but either way, you've created another brilliant piece capturing a magical aesthetic. Great work!

I've always had a strong appreciation for the aesthetic of abandoned, derelict, dusty locations, and this piece that you've created really satisfies this aesthetic. It took me a moment to realize that it was animated, which was done so well and accurately. I feel like a piece such as this would be very easy to over-animate, but you kept a perfect balance of subtlety with the faint specs of dust, and the rays of light. Your work and its closeness to realism is extremely impressive, especially in the medium of pixel art. The details of the caked dust on the floor, the paint peeling from the walls, and the patchy windows are spot-on. Phenomenal work as always.

Is this the guy that's been trying to reach me about my (nonexistent) car's extended warranty?

Great work. The brush strokes here are simple, yet highly effective, and you nailed the lighting.

There's so much life and vibrancy to this, great work! I'd definitely play SNES Half-Life.

Nice! You really do have an eye for good palettes. This is so well done! I love the atmosphere. A fuzzy blacklight poster of this would be wicked sick.

Excellent palette and attention to detail! I especially enjoy the rays of light shining through.

My opinions on NFTs are unsurprisingly just as negative as many other folks, but since this review space is for the art itself, let's just talk about that, huh?

This is awesome! I love the sense of color and contrast, especially around his mouth. I like the detail of his body emerging from the clouds too. The only thing that seems a bit off to me is the perspective. This piece does feel a bit flat to me at some points, and I feel that the depth could be improved on. Perhaps this is due to a somewhat unsavory crop or aspect ratio even, but most of what I'm seeing in terms of 'flatness' come from the wings, namely the one that the person is standing on. I mean, props to them for being able to hold on to this magnificent beast, of course.

Perhaps it is just a product of the cropping, but I do think that seeing more of a wingspan, or perhaps finding a different creative way to crop the image (such as obscuring more of the dragon in the clouds) would help bring some depth and convey the size of the dragon. I guess it's a somewhat minor point, but it does stand out to me. As I said before, you absolutely nailed the color, contrast, and lighting especially. Not to mention, great work on the detail of the dragon's skin.

RodneyAmirebrahimi responds:

because no one bought any prints of my work I started selling NFT version of them
and good or bad NFT's really saved me in covid and helped me to stay a fulltime artist and start working on my own original stuff!
and I really appreciate review
hope I can improve the things you touched on, I've been mostly painting portraits / commissioned stuff, so this is a new territory for me :D
