Another great one! The speed is pretty much spot on, and I absolutely love the lens flare. As usual, the colors are on point and look delicious.

AnasAbdin responds:

thank you!

I like this! Great color palette here, I really like the drawing and shading style too.

Caaath responds:

I'm glad you like the colors! Thank you! <3

Nice! I love the quick cuts. To someone who suffers from insomnia/sleep paralysis, I can relate to this quite a bit. The smaller details of him changing sleeping position are a nice touch, as well as the static- which I would relate to that tingling feeling as your body falls asleep. Good stuff, happy Halloween!

shadow-ghost responds:

There's definitely heavy inspiration from sleep disorders in this one - I like that you noticed that! Thanks for your nice comment. :)

Nice! I think this one came out pretty neat. I love the texture and shading you've done, especially on the rocks. There's a good sense of depth to this image from the way that the background is colored. The true joy is viewing this full size to see all of the colors involved in the shading and how they go together so seamlessly. The only thing that stands out to me about this one is that I feel like there would be more rubble and debris created by such a large creature bursting through the rock like that, especially toward the right of the creature. Aside from that minor note, you've got a pretty solid piece here, and a pretty great eye for detail and composition.

Thanks!!!

Good stuff! The animation looked pretty great, I found myself watching this over and over again to admire the initial burst of limbs and whatnot. I think it might be neat to see a variation of this with some sort of a loop aspect to it, but on its own this is a pretty neat little ditty! Happy Halloween!

gatekid3 responds:

Unfortunately i do not plan to loop this, but the thought did occur.
Thank you though.

Stunning. For me, it's always great to see real, traditionally created artwork on the front page. Viewing the higher resolution of this is an absolute journey. The work on the water really puts you out in the middle of the ocean, and I love the green touches toward the horizon points. The ship itself is very well done, especially the the ripples in the sail.

zanaelf responds:

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it :-)

Woah. Amazing work with contrast, especially that white gel pen. The color in this really pops and the composition is gripping.

MrCreeep responds:

thanks! I was really pushing for a lot of those things. On a previous piece someone had mentioned I was getting a bit repetitive and felt like I needed to challenge myself.

Spectacular. Given the understanding of the Flash CS3 layout, this is definitely a pretty solid piece of background art you've got here. It's very captivating, and the coloring is spot on. It almost gives me a bit of an Adam Phillips feel, which is especially impressive. What caught my eye first- aside from the lighthouse of course- was the detail and rigid outline of the leaves on the trees and their respective silhouette. Honestly the only thing that sticks out to me is the amount of blur given to the clouds. I'm assuming since this is background art, the clouds are probably meant to be in motion. Considering this I'd recommend maybe bumping the blur down a few points- only a few. Regardless this is a great piece you've got here.
I have to ask- is this any particular lighthouse you referenced, or one you drew up on your own? You've painted my dream home.

zeedox responds:

Thankyou very much! I think you're right, I could reduce the blur on the clouds. This isn't any particular lighthouse but it would be a mix of elements from various refence images.

Oh this is perfect. Botanical demons and massive fucking cockroaches. The coloring/shading is impeccable.

SmokeryDots responds:

Botanical demons never misses :P Thank you :)

Flawless. Really emotional piece right here. It speaks so loudly and says so much, while the overall composition is rather subtle, easing in with a fantastic flow and great rythym throughout. The small details within this piece tell a number of different stories to me. The red light that the train is positioned in front of could indicate several things crucial to the background of this work, and truly keeps the viewer thinking. Excellent work here.

SmokeryDots responds:

I'm really glad you like it, and thanks :)
